Record
U.S. Air Force, 1989–90, a heating-and-air-conditioning mechanic with the 832d Civil Engineering Squadron in Arizona. Never a paratrooper. Never in combat.
Court officials described him to the press as "a former U.S. military paratrooper," and NTV carried the line at his arrest. Independent reporting corrected it within days: he served in the Air Force for less than a year, in 1989, as a heating-and-air-conditioning mechanic in Arizona. The label still appears in some coverage. It is wrong.
